How do I adjust cloud pricing settings?

You can adjust the settings for each of the cloud providers you want to include in your pricing assessment - This article provides information on changing the pricing settings

Changing the default cloud pricing settings to be included in your default AppScore pricing assessment is performed by Administrators and accessed through SETTINGS (Cog icon) in the top right-hand corner of the screen and then CLOUD PROVIDERS from the left-hand menu

Settings can also be adjusted while performing cloud pricing modelling on the modelling page, but changing settings there will not update the default settings.

Update cloud providers selection

In the cloud provider section, you will be able to include/exclude which cloud providers you want to use as part of a pricing assessment.

Detailed information on the impact of changing available cloud providers can be found here.

Adjust the Standard Configuration settings

Recommend based on "Configuration"

If "Recommend based on Configuration" is selected, then AppScore will match your on-premise VMs to a cloud provider VMs based on a like for like configuration.

The following data needs to be provided for servers for matching to occur:

  • Operating System
  • Current CPU
  • Current RAM
  • Current Storage

Recommend based on "Utilisation"

If "Recommend based on Utilisation" is selected, then AppScore will match your on-premise VMs to cloud provider VMs based on utilisation metrics provided to the platform.

The following data needs to be provided for servers for matching to occur:

  • Operating System
  • Current RAM
  • Current CPU
  • Current Storage
  • Utilisation Metrics required for
    • CPU Peak/Average
    • Memory Peak/Average

Calculation example for utilisation matching

If the following data is provided to AppScore

  • CPU = 8
  • CPU Average utilisation = 25%
  • CPU Headroom = 50%
(8 x 0.25) + ((8 x 0.25) x 0.5) = 3

The CPU value of 3 would then be used for matching
