Improving cost visibility

Understanding how your cloud bill will increase during migration can be difficult. However, the new Cloud Cost Forecaster in AppScore can help.

This feature uses your migration plan to calculate and display the rate at which you are migrating, as well as the increase in cloud consumption as you move to the cloud. This helps you to understand and predict the growth of your cloud bill.

We've also added new breakdown graphs to the On-premises Cost Calculator and Cloud Cost Modeller providing a visual representation of the different elements that make up your costs.

See a video demo of the new features at the bottom of this page.

Cloud Cost Forecaster

2022.21 Cloud Cost Forecaster table

Using the data from the move groups in your transformation schedule, the Cloud Cost Forecaster calculates your monthly cloud consumption and shows the ramp up of cloud spend as the migration progresses.

Multi-year programmes are supported with the table providing a detailed five-year view that can be exported for use outside the platform.

2022.21 Cloud Cost Forecaster bar chart

An interactive graph provides multiple charts in line and bar format showing the number of servers or applications launched to cloud and the resultant cost forecast.

On-premises Cost Calculator chart

2022.21 OPCC chart

There's two new charts on the On-premises Cost Calculator that provide a visual representation of the elements that make up your on-premise costs. One chart provides a summary, the other a more detailed view.

Cloud Cost Modeller chart

2022.21 CCM chart

A chart has also been added to the Cloud Cost Modeller showing a breakdown of the different cost profiles applied across your portfolio.

This gives you a visual representation showing how much is reserved or on-demand across the different cloud providers.
